Abstract:
The sets of cross sections for electron scattering on ammonia (NH3) molecules are presented and discussed. Several sets recommended by different groups of researchers were compared with each other and used as input parameters for the calculation of transport coefficients: drift velocity (W), reduced ionization coefficient (α/N), and reduced attachment coefficient (η/N). The calculations were performed with the Bolsig+ code in the range of reduced electric field (E/N) from 0 to 3000 Td (1 Td = 10–21 Vm2). Significant deviations were observed between different sets of cross sections for e-/NH3 interactions, as well as deviations between calculated and measured values of transport coefficients.
