Abstract:
Rock mass inEarth's crust represent potential mineral resources, and mineral resources aremineral raw materials. They are classified into categories of ore reserves limited within certain deposit and occurrence that represent insufficiently studied mineral resources. Most of mineral resources are genetically tied directly or indirectly to global tectonic and magnetic activity during the development ofthe Earth's crust.
Complex tectonic activity on area of Republic of Srpska developed many rock complexes of different geotectonic units and stratigraphicaffiliation. During time, appeared rock masses,as a result of volcanic activity, richened with certain minerals. The final phase of volcanism characterizes pyroclastic rocks that in later stage become sedimentary rocks and with new processes create rocks that are the bearers of minerals of lesser distribution. Those minerals are very significant today. In this paper are given rare minerals and rocks in Republic of Srpska, their occurrences and deposits. It is given overview of some minerals and rocks from the most significant world deposits.
