Abstract:
Apstrakt
Neonatalna njega prematurusima u znatnoj mjeri određuje pojavu i stepen težine ROP-a.
Tehnološki razvoj medicine je poboljšao neonatalnu njegu i time doveo do povećanja stope preživljavanja prematurusa. Povećanje broja prematurusa utiče na rast značaja prevencije prematurne retinopatije.
Abstract
Retinopathy of prematurity is a disease of the eye or retinal blood vessels during their development in premature infants. It is characterized by the end of the development of normal blood vessels, obliteration and the appearance of proliferative retinopathy, which can lead to blindness of premature infants.
The goal of an effective screening program of premature retinopathy is to identify premature infants who require treatment among premature infants who do not require treatment. The ideal screening program should provide diagnostics of all cases of premature retinopathy, their monitoring and at the same time to minimize the number of stressful screening examinations.
Neonatal care of premature infants in a considerable extent determines the occurrence and stage of ROP . In different countries, incidence of ROP Stage 3 is different and ranged from 5.2 to 25.5%.
The ophthalmological screening program has been adapted to each country individually and is developing in close co-operation of pediatric neonatologists and ophthalmologists. Technological development of medicine improved neonatal care and increased the survival rate of premature infants. As the number of premature infants increases, the significance of prevention of the retinopathy of prematurity is increasing.
