Abstract:
The Ti6Al4V alloy as biocompatible material used for orthopaedic implants is hot forged and examined. The specific strength, low Young’s modulus and high corrosion resistance are alloy’s essential properties that provide wide range of applications. During this investigation, the attention is given to microstructural characterization using optical microscope and SEM. Examined samples were cut from hip implants manufactured by hot forging process. Obtained results of hot forged Ti6Al4V samples microstructure examination are satisfying.
