Abstract:
Process planning is a complex activity, which is divided into several
hierarchical levels. The first, and highest level in this hierarchy represents a conceptual
process planning, as an activityof the preliminary estimates possibilities and effects of
manufacturing products. The main objective of conceptual process planning is support
the early stage of product development to optimize product design, selection types of
workpiece and appropriate manufacturing technologies and processes, reducing the
time and costs of the manufacturing products. This paper presents an overview in the
field of computer aided conceptual process planning.
