Abstract:
Worldwide, the trend is to use the combination of aluminum and composite material for shaft manufacturing, so, in this paper, the analysis focus is put on those materials.
The advantages of composite materials over the conventional ones include the ability to vary their properties in order to ensure the best combination for each application. This is achieved through selection of their constituent materials, quantities, distribution and fibre orientation angle. That’s why the most of this work is based on the influence of material types and fiber orientation angle on basic static and dynamic shaft characteristics.
Based on the obtained results, the application of composite materials is recommended.
